Description
Avodart Capsules (Dutasteride) by GSK is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition where the prostate gland becomes enlarged in men. It works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the hormone responsible for prostate enlargement, thereby reducing prostate size and improving urinary symptoms. It should be used under medical supervision as it may cause side effects such as decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, and is strictly contraindicated in women and children
