SUFRE TULLE DRESSING (Antibiotic Gauze Dressing)

Description

SUFRE-TULLE Dressing (Framycetin Sulphate 1% w/w) is a sterile, low-adherent antibiotic gauze dressing consisting of cotton leno-weave fabric impregnated with white soft paraffin, anhydrous lanolin, and 1% Framycetin Sulphate — an aminoglycoside antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It is primarily used as a primary wound contact layer for the management of infected or potentially infected wounds, burns, ulcers, lacerations, skin grafts, and other traumatic lesions. The dressing works by delivering the antibiotic directly to the wound site, effectively combating organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli, Klebsiella species, and some strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It should be changed at least once daily in weeping wounds and is contraindicated in patients with known sensitivity to framycetin, neomycin, or lanolin.
