Description
Enterogermina (Bacillus clausii) is a probiotic preparation containing spores of Bacillus clausii, a spore-forming, aerobic gram-positive bacterium that is resistant to multiple antibiotics, allowing it to be used concurrently with antibiotic therapy. It works by restoring the balance of intestinal microflora disrupted by infections, antibiotics, or other gastrointestinal disturbances, thereby reducing the duration and severity of diarrhea and associated symptoms. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of intestinal dysbiosis, acute and chronic diarrhea, and antibiotic-associated diarrhea in both adults and children including infants. It is very well tolerated with an excellent safety profile, as the spores survive gastric acid and bile salts to reach the intestine intact, where they germinate and exert their beneficial effects.
