Synalar Cream

Description

Synalar Cream (Fluocinolone Acetonide 0.025%) is a potent topical corticosteroid widely used in dermatology for the treatment of inflammatory, pruritic, and allergic skin conditions such as eczema, atopic dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, lichen planus, and discoid lupus erythematosus. It works by suppressing the inflammatory response through vasoconstriction, reduction of membrane permeability, and inhibition of the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby relieving symptoms of redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort. The cream is particularly suitable for moist or weeping skin surfaces and flexural areas, applied sparingly two to three times daily as a thin film to the affected area. Prolonged or extensive use should be avoided, especially in children and on the face, as it may lead to skin atrophy, HPA axis suppression, or topical steroid withdrawal syndrome.
