Motilium® 10mg (domperidone)

Description

Motilium® 10mg contains domperidone, a dopamine antagonist that acts as a prokinetic and antiemetic agent. It works by blocking peripheral dopamine receptors in the gastric wall and chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ), enhancing gastric motility and accelerating gastroduodenal coordination without crossing the blood-brain barrier significantly. It is primarily used to relieve symptoms of nausea, vomiting, bloating, and gastroparesis, as well as gastroesophageal reflux. Due to potential cardiac risks (QT prolongation), it should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary.
