It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, helping to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of stroke and cardiovascular complications. It should be used under medical supervision as it may cause side effects such as dizziness, elevated potassium levels, and is strictly contraindicated during pregnancy
