Description

Diane-35 is a combined oral contraceptive containing cyproterone acetate (2mg), an anti-androgen, and ethinylestradiol (0.035mg), an estrogen. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of androgen-dependent conditions in women, such as acne, seborrhea, and mild hirsutism, with contraception as a secondary benefit. Due to its anti-androgenic properties, it is particularly favored in conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It carries a higher thromboembolic risk compared to other low-dose pills and is generally not recommended as a first-line contraceptive alone.
