Dextop (Dexlansoprazole)

Description

Dextop contains Dexlansoprazole, a dual delayed-release Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by blocking the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme in stomach parietal cells. It is indicated for the treatment of GERD, heartburn, and erosive esophagitis, offering two-phase acid control — releasing the drug approximately 1 hour and again 4–5 hours after ingestion. Taken once daily with or without food, long-term use should be monitored for potential side effects such as low magnesium levels, vitamin B12 deficiency, and bone fracture risk.
