Description

SITAGEN Tablets are an oral anti-diabetic medication manufactured by Ferozsons Laboratories Ltd., Pakistan, containing Sitagliptin as the active ingredient, belonging to the DPP-4 Inhibitors (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 Inhibitors) class of drugs. Sitagliptin selectively inhibits the enzyme DPP-4, which is responsible for breaking down incretin hormones such as GLP-1 and GIP that play a crucial role in regulating blood glucose levels, thereby enhancing insulin secretion and reducing glucagon secretion from the pancreas. It works by naturally raising incretin levels, helping to lower blood sugar levels by increasing insulin in the body, and is used to treat Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in adults, available in strengths of 50mg and 100mg, taken once daily with or without food.
