Description

Merol-100mg Tablets (Metoprolol Tartrate USP) is a selective beta-1 adrenergic blocker used in the management of hypertension, angina pectoris, heart failure, and various cardiac arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and supraventricular tachycardia. It works by selectively blocking beta-1 adrenergic receptors in the heart, reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output, thereby lowering blood pressure and decreasing myocardial oxygen demand without significantly affecting beta-2 receptors in the lungs at therapeutic doses.
