Description

Genticyn HC (Gentamicin + Hydrocortisone Acetate) is a combined topical preparation containing an aminoglycoside antibiotic and a corticosteroid, used to treat inflammatory skin conditions complicated by or at risk of bacterial infection. Gentamicin provides broad-spectrum antibacterial action against gram-negative and some gram-positive organisms, while Hydrocortisone Acetate reduces inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling. It is commonly used for conditions such as infected eczema, dermatitis, otitis externa, and other inflamed skin disorders where both infection control and anti-inflammatory relief are required. Being a combination product, it offers the dual benefit of treating infection and alleviating discomfort simultaneously, making it an effective short-term topical therapy.
