Description

Transamin Injection contains Tranexamic Acid, a synthetic antifibrinolytic agent that works by competitively inhibiting the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby preventing the breakdown of fibrin clots and reducing excessive bleeding. It is indicated for the prevention and treatment of hemorrhage in conditions such as postpartum hemorrhage, surgical bleeding, trauma-associated bleeding, menorrhagia, hematuria, and hereditary angioedema, and is also widely used perioperatively to minimize blood loss during major surgeries like cardiac, orthopedic, and hepatic procedures. Administered intravenously, the typical dose ranges from 500mg to 1000mg given slowly over 10 minutes, with dosing frequency adjusted according to the clinical condition and severity of bleeding. It is generally well tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with a history of thromboembolic disorders, renal impairment, or those at risk of seizures, as high doses have been associated with convulsions.
