Description
Gravinate (Dimenhydrinate B.P.) is an antihistamine and antiemetic medication primarily used for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and motion sickness. It works by blocking H1 histamine receptors and exerting anticholinergic effects on the vestibular system of the inner ear, thereby reducing the signals that trigger nausea and vomiting. Commonly used before travel to prevent motion sickness, it is also effective in managing vertigo and nausea associated with inner ear disturbances. Due to its sedative properties, it may cause drowsiness, making it advisable to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery while under its effect.
