Description
Flucate 25mg (Fluphenazine Decanoate BP) is a long-acting injectable (LAI) typical antipsychotic of the phenothiazine class, used for the maintenance treatment of schizophrenia and chronic psychotic disorders. Administered intramuscularly every 2–4 weeks, the decanoate ester is slowly hydrolyzed in the body to release active fluphenazine, ensuring sustained therapeutic levels and improved patient compliance. It acts primarily by blocking dopamine D2 receptors in the mesolimbic pathway, effectively controlling positive symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking.
