Description

Tri-Melasin is a triple-combination topical formulation containing Fluocinolone Acetonide (a mild corticosteroid), Hydroquinone (a depigmenting agent), and Tretinoin (a retinoid), working synergistically to treat melasma and other hyperpigmentation disorders of the skin. Hydroquinone inhibits tyrosinase enzyme activity, thereby reducing melanin synthesis; Tretinoin accelerates epidermal cell turnover and enhances the penetration of hydroquinone into the deeper skin layers; while Fluocinolone Acetonide suppresses the inflammatory response and minimizes the irritation caused by the other two active ingredients. This combination is considered a gold-standard therapy for moderate-to-severe melasma, facial hyperpigmentation, and post-inflammatory pigmentation, and is applied as a thin layer to the affected areas once daily, preferably at night, along with strict sun protection during the day. Long-term use should be avoided due to the risk of skin atrophy, telangiectasia, ochronosis (from hydroquinone), and retinoid-induced skin irritation such as dryness, peeling, and photosensitivity.
