Somogel (Lignocaine/Ethanol/Cetylpyridinium Chloride)

Description

Somogel Gel is manufactured by Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Ltd., available in a 20g tube, containing a combination of Lignocaine (Base) 0.60%, Cetylpyridinium Chloride 0.02%, Menthol 0.06%, Eucalyptol 0.10%, and Ethanol 33%, classified as a Local Anesthetic and Oral Antiseptic preparation. It provides fast relief from pain and soreness caused by mouth ulcers and other related ailments of the buccal cavity including gingivitis and glossitis, and is also useful in the treatment of teething problems in babies. Being an OTC (over-the-counter) medicine, it is applied directly to the affected area using a clean fingertip, with the recommendation to avoid eating or drinking for 15–20 minutes after application, and is suitable for both adults and children.
