Natrilam Tablets (Indapamide + Amlodipine) by Servier is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication that combines Indapamide, a thiazide-like diuretic, with Amlodipine, a long-acting calcium channel blocker, offering a dual mechanism of action for effective blood pressure control. Indapamide reduces sodium reabsorption in the renal tubules promoting fluid excretion, while Amlodipine causes peripheral vasodilation by blocking calcium influx in vascular smooth muscle, together producing a synergistic antihypertensive effect. It is indicated for the management of essential hypertension in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on monotherapy, and the combination also offers the added benefit of reducing cardiovascular risk, including stroke and cardiac events, with a favorable tolerability profile.
