DILATREND TABS (Carvedilol)

Description

Dilatrend (Carvedilol) is a non-selective beta-blocker with additional alpha-1 blocking activity, providing vasodilation alongside heart rate reduction. It is indicated for hypertension, stable angina, and — most notably — chronic heart failure (both HFrEF and as an adjunct post-MI). Its dual adrenergic blockade reduces cardiac workload, improves left ventricular function over time, and has been shown to significantly reduce mortality in heart failure patients. It is initiated at low doses and titrated slowly due to the risk of hypotension and fluid retention.
